Basically.

The reports of Kook Jin and In Jin's affair put the How Well Do You Know Your Moon at risk of being deleted for the legal team of Kook Jin called it libelous. HWDYKYM acknowledges the lack of documentation and will walk forward if the Tumblr blog of HWDYKYM is deleted. We have put up all the posts on this blogspot just in case of these legal issues actually tear down the site.

Take a look through our now archived posts.

How Well Do You Know Your Moon: Introduction

Here I am. A result of indoctrination and idolatry, I come before all of you. I was born into a family in the Unification Church, and to prevent this from the Unification Church to infect your life, or help you realize the truths on this so-called “Movement”, I am here to deliver what I can to you.

This is done out of research and experience. None of this is information anti-Moonie propaganda but from the mouths of elders and first generation, as well as experienced second generation, in the Church.

I will expose Rev. Moon for who he is. An adulterer, a liar, a thief and a pretty skilled anti-Christ.

For those getting involved into the Moon-faith, here I am to push you away with all my strength. For those within it, here I am to reveal the light onto the dark side of the Moon. And for those who have no idea about what I am talking about… here is a bit of a warning.

So lets see… how well do you know your Moon?

The three great blessings.

Unificationism is built off of the Divine Principle, which is built off of the sacred works of the Bible. The purpose of life for the Unificationist is taken from Genesis in which God tells Adam and Eve to “be fruitful, multiply and have dominion over creation” (Gen. 1:28). These are the three great blessings.

Unificationists dissect this verse to mean:

Fruitful- Have mind-body unity
Multiply- Create a family centered on God
Dominion over creation- Use but don’t abuse creation

These are the three blessings in which a Unificationist must abide by and are seen as a basic outline of the ideal life. One thing that always bothered me about these “blessings” was the first one. Be fruitful. This was God supposedly asking man to become spiritually mature in the Unificationists’ view, but he blessed somebody else with the same exact blessing a few lines up.

“And God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.’”
Genesis 1:22

So God asked the birds as well to mature spiritually? Aren’t animals… without spirits? So they should be unable to mature spiritually. Should be.

Last Adam?

Rev. Moon takes pride in being the returning messiah. He sees Adam as a failure and his mission had went unfulfilled for Jesus to take on. Jesus took it on and didn’t do so well either and therefore Moon is needed to fulfill the “providence of restoration”.

Why does Moon think this? Well there are a few reasons why. He likes to play this game called, “Let’s distort the Bible so I can make up a religion”. Except it’s not a game, it’s a deceitful act that Master Moon loves doing.

“The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.”
1 Corinthians 15:47

Rev. Moon sees himself as the third Adam, the third original/true man to take up God’s work of creating a family and a world of peace (in layman’s terms). Adam was the original man who was to create an ideal family but failed after he could not resist Eve’s temptation. After he fell he lost his bloodline connected to God and became kin to Satan himself.

Jesus was the “Second Adam” who was to come to finish Adam’s work and finally create that ideal family in God’s lineage. Jesus failed to convince enough people of the Gospel and lost many important followers and the support of John the Baptist (apparently) and this brought upon his failure, or at least that is how Moon puts it. His failure was the death on the Cross.

Moon is the third and final Adam, the returning Messiah, the Lord of the Second Advent, etc. But is this title of “Adam” really deserved?

“So it is written: ‘The first man Adam became a living being’; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.”
1 Corinthians 15:47

This verse comes from the First Epistle to the Corinthians in which Paul refers to Jesus Christ as “the LAST Adam”. Not second. Last. Meaning what Jesus Christ did was the work alone that had to be done. This is not an argument in aims to convert you to Christianity, though I am fine with that, but this is an argument to show you how the core of your theology is flawed.

I am talking about the Bible right now, but boy things will only get crazier. Till next time.

Young Jin Moon

This name may mean something to you. You may think you know his story or you may confuse his name for another one of Rev. Moon’s kids. As a Unificationist I grew up believing he was a martyr. Little did I know the truth about his death.

On October 28, 1999, a 21 year-old Young Jin Moon had been found dead after his body had landed a 17 floor jump from his hotel room in Reno. Following his death many reports were coming out and voices were saying different things.

The story that I was taught as a kid was that Young Jin had been pushed off his hotel room’s balcony by Satanic forces. I had heard this story several times while at camps and workshops and from others who had conviction in that tale. Rev. Moon himself had taught that this dark spiritual force was truly the cause of his son’s death.

But those investigating the scene had quickly ruled it a suicide. But of course that was impossible, Rev. Moon’s son could do no such thing.

Rev. Philip Schanker, a voice well known in the Unification Movement, had told the press that Young Jin had “every reason to live” and that he had shown plans that “had direction”. Dr. Tyler Hendricks had blamed the Movement for Young Jin’s death, saying in a memo to members: “Now is a time for us all to repent and reflect deeply, offer our prayers for Young Jin Nim, who has become an offering for our own inadequacies and inability, and make our determination to fulfill the path of the providence in his place.”

Faith is important to any religious faith and being a true believer can pull you to accept such blame and such a tale. But how can we know for sure that this was out of contact with the Spirit World? How can we know that this was not an act of Young Jin’s depression? Was Young Jin, a true child, in fact… depressed?

Yeon Jin “Kat” Moon, Young Jin’s sister who was on the reality TV-show “Survival of the Richest”, had written in much anger after her brother’s death. She wrote of her brother’s pious lifestyle of “read[ing] the Divine Principle regularly” and “try[ing] his best to live a selfless life”. She had shared many great experiences and spoke fondly of her brother. Though she loved her brother she had come to recognize the darkness that was building in his life.

Young Jin had married Hwa Jung in the 3.6 Million mass wedding ceremony conducted by Rev. Moon. His marriage was arranged by his father. His father is told to have spiritual powers of being able to see a person’s whole life and see all their ancestors and when he matches a couple he is even able to see their offspring. Rev. Moon is magical. Little did Rev. Moon know that when he matched his son to Hwa Jung he had actually matched his son to a “fallen 2nd generation”. The girl had sex before marriage and would stain the pure, holy lineage of Young Jin.

Yeon Jin wrote, “He had unveiled the past of his then wife, Hwa Jung, the heartless beast who single-handedly ruined him. After they had been together for a year, and after she assumed she could not possibly be kicked out of the family because she was pregnant with his child, she confessed to him that she was not as pure as he had thought she was. She had had a sexual relationship with another man in Korea prior to my brother, and she still called that Korean bastard from time to time. Hwa Jung, Satan, had this guy in Korea wait for her, in case her marriage with Young oppa did not work out.” Yeon Jin was a bit passionate about this subject.

Young Jin and Hwa Jung had a time of separation and Yeon Jin speaks of her brother’s changes and deep sadness. She noted that “his countenance had changed…there was a sadness about him that was so unlike him.” Young Jin was in fact depressed.

So was it a cover-up? Yeah, pretty much. So did Rev. Moon lie? Yep. It makes you think, ya know? How well do you know your Moon?

Tim Folzenlogen’s 1994 letter to Rev. Sun Myung Moon regarding his son Hyun Jin Moon’s assault

Dear [Father][Sun Myung Moon],

I am writing to you about a couple of serious incidents which happened between Hyun Jin Nim and myself. It is very important to me that this situation be resolved.

I have been a member of the Unification Church for nineteen years. I went through Barrytown training, six years MFT and two years with OWP before winning Mr. Kamiyama’s blessing to pursue a mission relating to fine art in which I have a substantial background. Over the last ten years I have had a dozen solo shows in New York City, a number of shows in Japan and three shows in my hometown, Cincinnati Ohio. The subject of my last Cincinnati show was the testimony of my spiritual quest in life. In part, the show explained Divine Principle and the concept of True Parents. It was well received.

As an artist, I do a lot of creative writing both inside and outside of the movement. I send my writing out through mailing lists. My purpose is to make people think. Create give and take. Most recently, I wrote something entitled “WHY” (enclosed) which pertained, in part, to Jun Sook Nim’s speech in Harlem which I attended. I sent a copy to Jun Sook.

On the evening of December 31, I received a call asking that I come to Ossining to meet with Hyun Jin Nim. When I explained that I didn’t have a car I was told that someone would come and pick me up. I immediately showered, shaved, put on clean clothes and prepared a presentation containing my resume, a catalogue from my last show in Japan, and a collection of writings from my testimony show.

I presumed that he wanted to meet me in connection with my writing. I falsely assumed that he was intrigued with my writing and wanted to discuss it further.

When I entered the room, Hyun Jin Nim was meeting with a few Japanese members. He asked everyone to leave the room but me. He told me rather strongly to sit down. He told me to wipe the smirk off my face. I apologized and told him that I was not aware that I was smirking and certainly didn’t mean to be.

He then walked over, put his face close to my own and said “What was that piece of shit that you sent to my wife?” (This was the first I realized that Jun Sook was his wife.) I told him that it was something I wrote which was honest and sincere. He then punched me in the side of the head, knocking me off the chair and into the wall. He then proceeded to kick me in the ribs. I stood up and said “I’m outta here. I didn’t come here to be beat up.” He yelled at me to sit down. I told him I would sit down if he treated me with respect. He then physically threw me out of the office and kept screaming that I was “cut off”. As I made my way down the steps to leave the building I encountered the brother who had come to pick me up. He looked upset. He asked me if I believed what I had written. I told him that of course I did. He told me to go back up there and defend it. I told him that Hyun Jin seemed more interested in punching and kicking than talking. Just then Hyun Jin came flying down the steps and pushed me into several walls as I tried to make my way out of the building not knowing the way. No one came out to give me a ride home.

I made my way to the train station and, luckily, had money with me to get back to Manhattan.

The next day was God’s Day. I, of course, did not attend. Hyun Jin Nim gave the speech. In part, I’m told, he spoke about our encounter. Later that day I spoke with my spiritual parents and a trusted friend. I think we all agreed that Hyun Jin Nim’s behavior was out of line but that I myself may have erred in the protocol department in sending my writing to Jun Sook directly. Since she had never met me, I could see where she might misunderstand my intent. In the hope of having a future relationship with Hyun Jin Nim, and since I was not permanently injured, I decided to write an apology to him in which I accepted all the blame. He received it on the night of January 2 through my friend Edric Debos. He told Edric that he would like to meet me again the next morning. Edric said that he smiled and said that this time he only wanted to talk.

I met with Hyun Jin Nim for the second time in Ossining at 10:00 AM January 3 in his office. The meeting lasted approximately 30 minutes. Throughout the meeting I sat in a chair; he alternately sat, walked up to me, knuckled my skull, poked my forehead, slapped me upside the head and sat some more. Since it didn’t really hurt that much, I determined to endure it in the hope that if I could get through the meeting, I could then present him with my package containing my foundation (the resume, catalogue and written testimony). My hope was that he would then come to understand that I am not just a negative member, that I have something of value to offer, and then we could possibly meet again in the future and have give and take.

Throughout his “lecture” I must say that I was really shocked at how little he seems to comprehend of the internal heart of the Principle. The only time he mentioned “love” was in reference to the earlier beating. He told me that he was a good judge of character and could immediately see that beating was the only form of love that I could understand as I was so full of hate and resentment. (I personally do not feel that I hold any resentment towards anyone about anything.) He also, repeatedly, kept referring to me in the most vulgar of terms.

The gist of his lecture (as hard as it might be to believe) was that a life of faith is not supposed to make sense. He seems to think that the True Family can do no wrong and that our (we fallen people’s) responsibility is to unquestioningly follow. He wants us to be robots. He said that my writing makes people think, which causes them to have doubts, which makes them question True Family and so, obviously, I am Satan. He said that I had to promise him that I would stop writing. I told him that I would stop sending my writing to the True Family, but that the other people on my list were my friends. Brothers and sisters. How could he ask me not to have conversation? I told him that give and take was how I grew. I told him that I didn’t know how to stop thinking.

This would cause him to back off, but he would keep circling around and coming back to the point that I had to stop writing. At one point, he said that if he even got a whiff of the fact that I was writing again, he would “hunt me down.” He also repeatedly said that he would take away “everything” that True Parents had given to me. I don’t know what he meant by “everything”. The only thing he mentioned specifically was the fact that one of our businesses in Japan sells my paintings. (I’d like to add here that our business in Japan is very lucky to have my paintings to sell. They need me a whole lot more than I need them. If Hyun Jin Nim cuts that business relationship off, all he is hurting is that church business.)

Finally, he sat directly across from me with our knees touching. He asked me if I do Pledge Service every Sunday at 5 AM. I, honestly, said no. He then smacked me, extremely hard, in the left ear. I could immediately tell that he had done serious damage to the inside of my ear. I told him so. He told me that I still had another ear. I told him that I had to go see a doctor now. He asked me which was more important: a doctor or the Kingdom of Heaven? I told him that, at this time, a doctor was. I left the room.

I went directly to the Ossining Police Department and asked them if there is any time limit on filing an assault charge. They said no.

I then went to a local clinic and waited an hour only to be told that they couldn’t help me because the doctor was booked that day.

I then went back to New York and saw my own doctor. He said that I was very lucky, that I had a lot of trauma inside the ear but that he didn’t see any perforation. He gave me a couple of shots and two prescriptions. As I write this, I still have ringing in my left ear and cannot hear so well out of it.

………

Before Jun Sook’s speech in Harlem, I saw a video of Father’s life. In it, they said that Father’s family name in Korea meant “people who live without laws” meaning that they don’t need laws as they do no harm to anyone.

In this country, if you hit someone without cause, that’s called “assault”. Think about Hyun Jin Nim trying to explain his rational to a judge and you will quickly come to understand why so few join our movement these days.

………

Not that it should make a difference, but I was putting in eighteen hour days on MFT when Hyun Jin Nim was five years old. I try very, very hard to be True as I understand True to be. My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life.

Not once did Hyun Jin Nim ask me a question in which I was free to answer with any kind of elaboration. He never gave me a chance to tell him who I am or why I don’t do Pledge every Sunday at 5 AM. On neither occasion was I able to leave my presentation behind. In his eyes, seemingly, members only exist to be told what to do, or to be judged.

………

I am absolutely furious (righteous indignation; not resentment) about this situation and so many others like it that seem to go unquestioned by anyone. This kind of abuse of power and position is shameful and has no place in the Kingdom building process. We can’t build the Kingdom with force. Fear does not create unity.

I want this situation to be addressed in a way that will assure that it will not be repeated again.

I want an apology from Hyun Jin Nim and I want him to stay away from me and my family. No “hunting me down” thank you, as I will most certainly continue to think and express. If anyone thinks that my writing is wrong they need only point out to me where I err. I will be more than happy to meet with anyone to discuss anything.

I want him to keep his hands off my personal business dealings as they have got nothing to do with him. If Dumonde Fine Art (a branch of his business) wants to stop acting as the shipping agent for my paintings (from which they make money) I am more than happy to take over that aspect myself.

I want my status as a member in good standing of the Unification Church publicly understood.

I want to be financially reimbursed for my doctor bills, phone calls to my lawyer and my time which was wasted in going to Ossining.

I sincerely hope that all this can be satisfactorily resolved outside of the courts in an expeditious fashion.

I await a reply.

Sincerely,

Tim Folzenlogen

Tim was never answered. He sent this letter out to several leaders and influential members of the Unification Church. None could counsel him or answer him or simply respond.

This violent behavior is not unique of Hyun Jin nim at all. This is not an isolated case.

Black Heung Jin nim

Heung Jin nim was a well-respected son in the True Family (Rev. Moon’s family). I guess every Moon child was respected at the time, even Hyo Jin nim, who was an excuse of a man who liked beating up his wife (even when she was pregnant) and fancied cocaine. Nonetheless, Heung Jin became one of the most influential and worshiped members of the True Family. His own death brought his fame to blow up. His picture hangs in cars today all over the world to “provide safety” for Unificationists. His story begins at his death at 17 years old from a car crash in which he supposedly moved the car in a certain direction where his friends were saved from a horrific death and he was taken as a sacrificial death. Heung Jin nim’s death was seen as “far greater importance than the crucifixion of Jesus Christ” by Colonel Bo Hi Pak. Heung Jin nim’s death was celebrated and seen as victorious by Church officials and new church holiday was declared to celebrate his victory. Soon enough people were claiming to be communing with Heung Jin nim, or even coming under Heung Jin nim’s control. Contradicting statements were coming out and he “spoke” through people with all different opinions and ideas. The greatest to be known, other than Dae Mo nim, was Black Heung Jin nim.

“In 1987 the Reverend Chung Hwan Kwak went to investigate reports that Heung Jin had taken over the body of a Zimbabwean man and was speaking through him. The Reverend Kwak returned to East Garden professing certainty that the possession was real. The African presented himself to the Reverend Kwak as the physical embodiment of Heung Jin’s spirit. The Reverend Kwak had asked him what it was like to enter the spirit world. The Black Heung Jin said that upon entering the Kingdom of Heaven, he immediately became all knowing. Without even meeting the man who claimed to be possessed by the spirit of his dead child, Sun Myung Moon authorized the Black Heung Jin to travel the world, preaching and hearing the confessions of Unification Church members who had gone astray…

He went to Europe, to Korea, to Japan, everywhere administering beatings to those who had violated church teachings by using alcohol and drugs or engaging in premarital or extramarital sex. Reverend Moon was using the Black Heung Jin for his own ends, just as he had used the American civil liberties community before him. No one outside the True Family was immune from the beatings. The Black Heung Jin was a passing phenomenon in the Unification Church. Soon the mistresses he acquired were so numerous and the beatings he administered so severe that members began to complain. He beat Bo Hi Pak-a man in his sixties-so badly that he was hospitalized for a week in Georgetown Hospital. Sun Myung Moon simply announced that Heung Jin’s spirit had left the Zimbabwean’s body and ascended into Heaven. The Zimbabwean was not quite so ready to get off the gravy train. At last sighting, he had established a breakaway cult in Africa with himself in the role of Messiah. In many ways, Hyo Jin’s abusive behavior was a natural response to the environment of coercion and control in the Moon household and the Unification Church.”
-Nan Sook Hong, former wife of Hyo Jin Moon

Black Heung Jin Nim beat members across the world to heal them of their sins. He’d be in rooms of hundreds of members and have the doors locked and lecture them and then make them confess their evils and each one of their sins and… beat the evil out of them. Black HJN grew in such power that he was given the chance to hear the confession of Colonel Bo Hi Pak himself and he beat him to a condition where Bo Hi Pak had to receive brain surgery.

When first arriving to East Garden, all of the True Family questioned Black Heung Jin nim. They asked him questions about his life as Heung Jin nim… he could not answer them all but others excused it as a spiritual issue. Some in the True Family were doubtful, but others like the lunatic Hyo Jin Moon celebrated.

Black Heung Jin was later denounced by Rev. Moon and said to have “the spirit of HJN leave him”. He continued his own form of Unificationism in Zimbabwe and had a revival of True Father’s spiritual practice of “pikareun”, where he had sex with female members of his church.

Black Heung Jin nim, or Cleophas, and his ministry and arrival were seen as a momentous event in Unification history at the time of his coming. Rev. Moon celebrated the man until Cleophas had grown to such power and that is when Cleophas became “wrong”. It really makes you think about the reality of Providence, the supposed foreknowledge of Rev. Moon… it makes you think… How well do you know your Moon?

Gambling is strictly prohibited by the Unification Church. Betting of any kind is seen as a social ill that undermines the family and contributes to the moral decline of civilization. Why was Sun Myung Moon, the Lord of the Second Advent, the divine successor to the man who threw the money changers out of the temple, spending hours at the blackjack table? The Reverend Moon was eager to explain our presence in a place I had been taught was a den of sin. As the Lord of the Second Advent, he said, it was his duty to mingle with sinners in order to save them. He had to understand their sin in order to dissuade them from it. Peter Kim sat there for him and placed the bets as the Reverend Moon instructed from his position behind Peter Kim’s shoulder. ‘So you see, I am not actually gambling, myself,’ he told me. Even at age fifteen, even from the mouth of the Messiah, I recognized a rationalization when I heard one.

Drama with Hyun Jin!

Hyun Jin, or known in the business world as Preston, has been getting in drama. After returning from a year of exile in Montana and coming back to his family, he had to face the reality of losing almost all the power he held in the Unification Church. His youngest brother, Hyung Jin, has been handed control over the Unification Church internationally and has been given control over organizations that Hyun Jin once headed. A few years back many had seen Hyun Jin as Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s choice of successor, but things are not looking that way anymore. And it seems like Hyun Jin cannot take it… and he is hurt.

People are saying that as “an act of rebellion” he had fired top Unification Church members working at Washington Times and had them escorted out of the building by security guards. An act of rebellion? That is debatable. Still, though, UPI has been taken out of his hands… as well as the Universal Peace Federation. And it seems that Hyun Jin knows exactly what to do. The Global Peace Festival, a little celebration of religions and life and a nice subtle way to introduce the world to Moonie ideas, is becoming separate from the Universal Peace Federation and will have no affiliation with the Unification Church any longer. Hyun Jin will now run GPF conferences and events independently from the Church and Rev. Moon.

Hyun Jin has recently moved his whole family, including his daughter-in-law Jinhwa (Shinhwa) Yoshida to Seattle, and is currently not speaking to any Moon’s, especially not Rev. Moon or Hyung Jin or In Jin. Definitely not In Jin. Especially after she gave a sermon on a rebellious brother who takes over a garden even though it does not belong to him. In the sermon she says, “If this older brother had a bunch of friends who really loved him with all their might and all their heart, and these friends could see the situation realistically, and if they were really this brother’s friends, what should they do? The kindest things the friends could do is to tell him, ‘Older brother, I love you to death. You’re my best friend. But what you’re doing to your family and to your neighbors is just not right. I want to walk with you. I want to play with you. I want to be with you all the time, but because I love you I am going to walk away from you. I am going to leave you so that you can experience the consequences of your actions. Because if you were to take the fruits of my garden from me, I would not be a good friend, to pretend that nothing happened. I would be very upset, and I need you to know I am upset. And you need to know that your parents are upset. If I am your friend, I am going to give you the opportunity to work it out with your parents, to work it out with your younger brother, and I’m going to walk away from you because I truly love you.’That’s what a true friend would do.”

It is clear she is talking about the Hyun Jin situation.

There has been bragging about the unity in the True Family… what about Hyun Jin? What about Un Jin? Ye Jin? Yeon Jin? Jeong Jin? Kwon Jin? And how about Sung Jin? Sammy Pak? These guys matter, too, even if Rev. Moon had them as a result of an affair.

So the Church is in a mess. And it is coming to the public eye. Hopefully you Moonies will question yourself and I pray you may really seek to answer one question. How well do you know your Moon?

Vague email regarding True Family drama

A vague email is going out describing Rev. Moon’s Hoon Dok Hae recently.

“It seems that the basic flow is true. The following people were present in today’s Hoondokhae: Ki-Hoon Kim, Yong-Cheol Song, Sun-Jo Hwang, Chang-Shik Yang, Joon-Ho Seuk, Jeong-Ok Yoo, Jung-Soon Cho and the members from the southern region of Kyung-Gi. Right now Father has taken all the leaders who participated to Seok-Cho with him. Once they arrive at Seok-Cho and I can connect through telephone I will be able to have more detailed information. Because the worker who transcribes the contents of Hoondokhae is also en route with the group, I am thinking of receiving the initial contents from him when I get there. As you have told me, I requested for a dictation of today’s Hoondokhae contents. I will receive the overall material and organize it based on the contents that concern you first. They told me they can’t release any audio data externally.

Some people are saying that he did not mention Hyun Jin Nim directly. I heard from others that he gave the order to restore Rev. Kwak to all of his public positions, including WANGO. I was told that Mother argued with Father during Hoondokhae and she left the room; and I heard she did not go to Seok-Cho.

Following news…

After today’s morning Hoondokhae ended, Mother ordered the PeaceTV and History Recording Department to erase the contents of today’s morning Hoondokhae…”

It seems the decision to cut Hyun Jin and Rev. Kwak were not his… and that they were the Korean leaders. Is Rev. Moon in control? Why wouldn’t he be?

Moonlight

I think this whole situation is comparable to Twilight. This Hyun Jin situation. You’ve got the cold-hearted In Jin as Edward, the somewhat wreckless Hyun Jin as Jacob and cute, naive Hyung Jin as Bella. Hyung Jin is trying to satisfy all sides and bring some kind of peace between everybody, but has to choose Edward.

Real shame. Even if Hyun Jin beat Tim Folzenlogen AND may of cheated on his wife, he is at least sincere and I think I gotta be on his team. I don’t want to curse so I will not talk about In Jin.

So what team are you? Team Hyun Jin or Team In Jin?

11/29/09

Is Hyun Jin really that bad?

There is a lot more happening than our eyes can see. And most visibly, right now, we can see Hyun Jin Moon being bashed and disliked and labeled “jealous” and “Cain”. But how much do we even know? Reports have been sent out by In Jin on several levels, through messengers like Dave Hunter, and through her own words. She called him misguided and blames Rev. Kwak for indoctrinating him… but is this all true? Is he misguided? Is he really trying to take over the church?

In Jin’s report was sent out as a chain letter and a lot of the First Gen don’t mind bashing Hyun Jin as “arrogant”, even after they clapped for his speeches and admired his work for the church for the last twenty years. And it is a fact that he gave his whole life to raise up the youth in the church and work towards accomplishing what is most important in the church: One Family Under God. He worked with people of all races and religions and helped many organizations and events that for the most part were successful.

Sure, there are a lot of conferences where people get inspired (and none of them are truly life changing), but the church’s charity and service grew tremendously in the last 20 years. And now most of these organizations that Rev. Kwak and Hyun Jin have raised up have been abolished by In Jin. The whole focus of the church has changed. It was once about being selfless and creating “One Family Under God” and now it is about perfectionism and excellence and it all sounds like it is copied from a New Age preacher. The church is selling itself out.

And where is Hyun Jin in all of this? Hyun Jin lost all his power and we only think it was because of Father’s direction, but trustworthy sources are saying that is false. It seems that Korean leaders who wanted Hyun Jin out of power put this order forth. Hyun Jin was doing a good job and was doing great leadership until he was sent to Montana for his little “break”. Why was it covered up so much? Why do we know so little about it? How come he was there? And soon after returning from his exile… he had lost all his power. All of his work for his whole life was taken by his younger brother, somebody active in the faith for only a few years. Hyung Jin, or “baldhead”, is not a bad guy and is trying to do the right thing… but does he deserve every single title in leadership? Does that make sense?

Many of you only know In Jin’s side of the story. Know this: You don’t know the full story. Don’t judge Hyun Jin so quickly, please.

Rev. Moon quote of the week

“So telling a lie becomes a sin if you tell it to take advantage of a person, but if you tell a lie to do a good thing for him that is not a sin. Even God tells lies very often; you can see this throughout history.”

So much for God being absolutely good.

In Jin Moon’s Propaganda

In Jin has some tools sent out across America on a speaking tour in each region. One family member over the age of 18 from each family shall come to the meeting where the men shall discuss the issues within the True Family. They will be reassured that there are no “issues” and that Hyun Jin is just being silly.

Hyun Jin is civil about this in a way. At least he isn’t trying to brainwash the masses.

That should be your determination. As a man, in your right front pants pocket is a small inside watch pocket. Keep pliers there, and when you go to the bathroom, once a day, pinch your love organ. Cut the skin a little bit as a warning. If your love organ does not listen to your conscience, then you should cut off the tip. Even if it takes that extreme measure, we have to make sure our mind and body become one.

Lovin’ Life Ministries, In Jin Moon, True Father, and a bunch of other ways to deceive people

Dave Hunter does not mind teaching the staff of the New Jersey youth program, GO, that Rev. Kwak, Rev. Moon’s closest disciple, is giving Hyun Jin Moon bad advice and was prepping him into becoming a messiah. Rev. Kwak is the one being pointed at nowadays, for some odd reason.

Strange.

Rev. Kwak is in fact a sweet man. He is a man who pretty much runs a clan of fruitful, faithful folk. All of his kids have gone into the world and become successful, prosperous figures in society and still attended seminary and created God-centered families. Is Kwak really that bad?

Rev. Moon criticized the leaders who took Rev. Kwak out of power and brought them into a meeting where he yelled at every single one of them. It seems that Rev. Kwak isn’t the problem if Moon supports him.

This is a game. In Jin is sending out her little disciples, Jaga and Dave Hunter, to teach the gospel of In Jin to the youth. The youth have learned her brother is a misleading anti-Christ and that she is in fact favored by her father. The reality of such is something much different.

We will see how this game is played out. The lies and deception… that has been the game of the Unification Church since day one. Lovin’ Life Ministries is loving the game as well.

Here at How Well Do You Know Your Moon we will watch the exposing be done. The game is being exposed. Rev. Moon’s empire is falling and the hypocrisy and corruption in the Unification Church is coming to light.

It is only fitting for me to end it like this… it’s become a pattern: How well do you know your Moon?

The Messiah is seventy-eight years old. His claims of divinity notwithstanding, even Sun Myung Moon cannot live forever. When he dies there is every possibility that the Reverend Moon will take the Unification Church with him to his grave. The Unification Church is a classic example of what psychologists call a cult of personality. His sons are already locked in a battle for control of his business empire. That struggle will only intensify when the Unification Church itself is up for grabs. Reverend Moon implies that the True Mother will rule when he ascends into Heaven.

Would a True Father…?

“As Sun Myung Moon struck her over and over again, his daughter told me, he insisted he was hitting her out of love. It was not her first beating at Father’s hands. She said she wished she had the courage to go to the police and have Sun Myung Moon arrested for child abuse.”

A message from one of our dearest followers

The message said:

You’ve got a tough job but you’re doing it well. People need to know the truth about the Unificationist movement.

I’ve recently come to see the truth about the corruption, hypocrisy, and manipulation fueling the church, and your blog has helped me separate from it in a certain way, no matter how small, and I appreciate it. It’s not easy breaking away from something you were born into and every bit helps.

My Response:

That is what it is about. I mean, separating yourself from the Movement is difficult. We were the hope of the Movement, the Second Generation that is. Our lives were created with an embedding of furthering the “Providence” and the clean, pure lineage. Many of us had dreams of our future in the Movement and had solid beliefs in Rev. Moon and the theology of the Divine Principle. Coming to terms with the corruption, hypocrisy, and manipulation kills.

How Well Do You Know Your Moon is a networking device as well as a site for information. Not only does this site exist to pull believers away from the Movement or keep people from joining this dangerous sect, but it is also to unite those damaged by the Movement.

Send us anything you want. A testimonial of some sort, a theological critique, or news on the True Family… if we feel comfortable with it, we’ll post it.

http://howwelldoyouknowyourmoon.tumblr.com/submit

We have some information up here but believe me, this will only get sweeter.

Let us explain.

Yes, us. As stated previously, this is a network. So let us explain.

We’ve been getting an usual amount of hits this last week. And messages from people from all sides of the spectrum. BCs who have lost faith and continue to pledge allegiance to Moon out of fear, as well as members who will close their ears and shut their eyes while telling us how evil we are. Ah, what can you do?

For everyone new to this blog, it is important that I clarify what my intentions are for this blog. It is an awareness blog to let Unificationists realize the darkness of the Movement. It is by no means an attack on Unificationists, but exists to enlighten my fellow brothers and sisters. I am not oblivious to the fact that many people think it is a negative ex-Moonie blog and will think nothing substantial of it. Most who look at this will think it’s just a crazy rant by someone who’s suffered in the church, but will not realize that these are all facts and nothing less or more. The fact is I do not present any misinformation or distort the truth but strive to help others realize what the reality is. If you’re struggling to digest this information, ask yourself if you want to actually know the truth and face the fact that this movement is not anywhere near perfect or will just try to live the fairy tale that the church is good no matter what facts are presented?

A philosophy I follow is to always be honest with myself. Does none of this information really not bother you? Does the reality of Moon’s strange and flawed lifestyle and actions—-such as the sexual rituals he performed and the wild things he teaches—-bother you? Or will you deny it because it does not sync up with what you were taught? Are you denying the truth because you are scared of questioning? Or of realizing that you have been deceived?

Be honest with yourself. If not with everybody else, at least yourself.

Arthur Ford and Moon

Arthur Ford was a popular “spiritual medium” who claimed to be under the control of a French-Canadian spirit being named Fletcher. (This blog already sounds pretty legitimate, right?) On April 21, 1965, while Moon was cruising through Virginia… it was decided that he’d meet up with Arthur Ford and his spirit-tumor pal, Fletcher.

Ford and Moon met with several early disciples and aides nearby. Ford went on to do a seance and called up Fletcher. Fletcher had supposedly said such things as,”Give him your whole support…” and “He is an instrument whom God is revealing himself”. He even went on to say other about Moon, such as,”In his time and in his place he is one of those chosen, as men have always been chosen, to be a revelator… The Spirit of Truth speaks through him. The Spirit of Truth will speak through the humblest one, here or anywhere who is willing to listen.” Things like this may prove to members that Moon is indeed the messiah for a man of another faith stated that Father is an agent of God and was revealed such through Spirit World, but who exactly was Ford and are his psychic works to be trusted?

Ford had attempted to convince Mrs. Houdini that he had the secret code which Houdini and her discussed before his passing. Mrs. Houdini invited Ford to do a seance and indeed said the right things and surprised Mrs. Houdini. Little did she know that the code was already publicized in a book a year before. Before that mess, he claimed that Houdini’s mother spoke through Fletcher and said the word “forgive”, a word Houdini desired to hear from his mother his whole life. This stunned several people until it was realized that this information was carried through newspapers before Houdini’s seance.

So, it could be coincidence and maybe the Spirit World did speak through Ford. But he had files on dozens of his clients of information he had before meeting them. He would tell them obscure facts about their life which he found while investigating. It seems like Ford just told people what they wanted. Even a crazy Korean anti-Christ.

Christians are the enemy? So much for that “One Family Under God” rhetoric!

“I know the established Christian theology….I know the enemy, but the enemy doesn’t know me. Thus the enemy has already lost the war.”
Sun Myung Moon, 1975

Does Moon think he’s… better than God?

“That’s why I can dream dreams that God Himself never dreamed. I’m that kind of person. I can believe the things even God can’t believe. I can do things even God can’t. That’s why God hated me more than Satan hated me.”
-Sun Myung Moon, 2003

It’s up to you… does he?

1/22/10

aisleofview asked: Hey I'm interested in what some of your sources are, it seems like you must be pretty intimate with the cult on a daily basis. Were you formally a member or something? Who are you?

Good question.

To be honest, a lot of information comes from www.Tparents.org, a website ran by a Church member. Even information supporting the truth of Pikareun, the sexual rituals of Moon, are up on the website.

Confirmations from elders in the Church, a rough translation of Chung Hwa Pak’s book The Six Mary’s, Familyfed.org, True Father’s speeches, and plenty of church publications and newsletters helped us collect this information.

We’re involved in the church to a degree, more or less. It is hard to be a “former” member of the Unification Church for it was the center of our lives for so long and many of us drowned in the Unification Church culture and community. None of us believe in Unification theology or the teachings of Rev. Sun Myung Moon.

I will address the questions I have been getting through messages. Also, Preston Moon, grandson of Sun Myung Moon, wrote a blog, which was quite long and filled with emotion-fueled, factless slander. Despite posting up the blog Let Us Explain, I am getting questions on why this exists and why we are doing this. I will not retype everything I just said because you were lazy. Instead I will sum it all up: Rev. Moon is a hypocrite, the leaders of the Unification Church are power-hungry and liars, and many activities and works of the Movement are contradictory to its’ mission and are illegal and have hurt the souls of many great people. Now, why are we doing this? To help people realize what they’re investing their money, time, and devoting their life to. Preston wrote a blog recently speaking about how pathetic we were and how we are not factual and are simply ranting. This is factual. I will admit that some posts have been immature, and I should have controlled that and I promise I will try my best to not let any posts like that appear again. But I do not run simply on rumors, I run on what is known and established. Much of this is truly the words of Sun Myung Moon and Unification Church history. And Preston, we’re not doing this because we have too much time on our hands, we’re doing this because something needs to be done. The corruption of this Movement is sickening. We admit, we do not knowing everything about the Moon family and ins and outs of the Movement, and we’ve admitted this. We’ve also said, though, that nobody knows that much about the Movement and we encouraged looking at all sides. Peace.

A sweet response for a sweet, sweet boy.

Note: Preston wrote a blog calling us cowards, pathetic, and factless, but he removed most of those claims as well as all statements that would seem arrogant (such as claiming we just wanted to hang out with his family) in a revision of the blog made today. The current blog up is revised and what is written below this may not fully apply to his current entry. Nonetheless, we’re responding to what he did write.

For everyone following, supporting, going against us, or struggling to understand, we appreciate your time for reading How Well Do You Know Your Moon. Thank you. Recently, Preston Moon started his own blog and made a response to our blog. You can find his blog here: http://simplypreston.wordpress.com/

This is our response:
Real emotional Preston. I find it quite interesting how a person’s greatest strength could also be their greatest weakness. Passion and emotion can lead people to great places but can also stray people out of the reality and into bad places. Unfortunately for you and many others, you fail to be in touch with reality and rather live by emotion. Logic, common sense, and facts for some reason are not valuable to you and obviously you do not live by them.

“You want to talk facts, that is a fact.” What is your fact? Please enlighten me. Prove that these posts are not facts, is nothing but a rant full of hot air and a complete misunderstanding. Your post completely shows how much “hot air” you seem to be having.

“I really feel sorry for them.”
No sympathy is needed from you. If you want to help, inform other members on the gun company your family owns while striving for world peace. Also, tell us of your grandfather’s sexual rituals or better more, explain the details of his extramarital affairs and the children that came out of these concubinal messes. This is a preview of other topics we will dig into. If you are not aware of these things, shows how many facts you know. But maybe you do know and you and your family obviously wish to hide these things from the public. Do you not want the world to know the absolute truth? You should feel much shame for this as it a human’s right to be knowledgeable of truths. Maybe I’m delusional in thinking you and your family thrives on censorship.

If you are truly hurt by those pictures, we understand and they are taken down. It just goes to show how contradictory both of you are. You succeed in this “New Progressive Unificationist” image, where the ideals the Church has supported, such as “absolute purity”, are being thrown out the window. So much for a conservative ideals which your splendid grandfather fought for in our nation. Many Unificationist have rightfully looked down on your behavior but have not spoken up on things like this, as well as many other issues.

Please do not jump to conclusions and try to sound intellectual. You may fool many others, but cannot fool everyone with your heart and pseudo-intelligence. Time is made and sacrificed for these posts because of what you and your family fail to disclose. Preston, you are very wrong about thinking pride comes out of this and we have nothing else to do. Actually, we have many other things that we have to do and we lead busy, productive lives. Unlike you, our families’ net worth does not remotely compare to yours.

Don’t be so arrogant and think this is all for you and your family. I do not take it as an opportunity to stick around your family. Become humble and start thinking about ridding your arrogance from yourself. If not, too bad for you. To answer your question of do we like ourselves now, well the fact that we’re of the few 2nd Generation speaking out and standing up against the negative aspects of the Movement is quite significant. The point of your sister’s picture was to show how contradictory you guys are, but I guess you don’t realize your own actions. So much for you and your family’s image. I thought this movement was about absolute love and absolute forgiveness but you clearly do not practice such things. Nonetheless, we do not need your love or forgiveness.

As for our identity, we will name ourselves in the future. As for now, take a try at debunking our past and upcoming articles. I suggest you need to get yourself ready for the ugly truth. Or maybe you are mentally weak to educate yourself on the matters by reading counter-criticism or ask your grandparents, parents and their siblings these kind of things. This truth and reality is why some people left in your family and they have made it very clear. Your aunt Un Jin does not even consider Moon a Messiah.

We will continue to write these articles to help educate others and you are nothing but a roadblock to this blog. People like you block the light from reaching others and this is unacceptable and we will not stand for it. But thanks for giving us publicity.

Sincerely,

How Well Do You Know Your Moon

Here we have the original blog written by Preston Moon. This is the third time we are addressing his blog because many of you still seem to think we’re attacking his family. The fact is, we’re responding to his attack on us. We’re not here to attack his family as much as those who are against George W. Bush and Barrack Obama are attacking the Bush and Obama families. We understand Preston’s mother and grandfather are spoken about in great detail, and their faults and mistakes are being displayed. And we acknowledge the fact that we had made the mistake of poking fun at members of the True Family who deserved no such action. We deleted those pictures of the Moon-Pak children and we’re marching forward in our aim to be professional and factual. But we’re bringing light to the many facts of the Unification Church and the “True Family” that many members deny and simply do not want to hear. If you can walk on with strong faith knowing with your whole heart that Moon has performed sexual rituals outside of marriage and goes on teaching the world a lifestyle while living another, then that is something I have to applaud you for. Such blind faith takes great strength. Here is the text of the “Will the Real Naysayers please standup?!”, the entry by Preston Moon: “Has anyone ever had a blog made about your family by a group of people who have nothing better to do in their lives who attempt to flaunt their self claimed, credible, logical arguments with the “extensive research” they have done only to make statements and accusations that are completely and sadly one-sided and deceitful? Sounds almost like a joke right? Well, lucky for me, I have found one! These writers who have apparently been through some experiences in which they were somehow hurt by the movement in one way or another have made this immature and childish decision to devote I’m assuming a considerable amount of time during their day to help the members, who really love God, TP and the values we stand for, realize the “darkness of the movement”. Wow, sounds pretty ominous and gloomy. But the thing is, what really is funny to me is that while they try to give off this image that they know everything, the ins and outs of the church and the family, they know nothing. You want to talk facts, that is a fact. All they are doing in looking at everything from their juvenile eyes, trying to really make sense of it with their really smart smart brains and if you add that with a little “I’m pretty sure i understand everything that is going on and I’m never wrong attitude and a little ouchy life experience. We got ourselves a bunch of misinformed, extremely negative and highly incredible statements that is nothing more than a puff of hot air. I really feel sorry for them. So, if you ask me why I’m taking so much time out of my morning to rant about this blog if I believe it to be a pathetic attempt by a so-called network who I believe to be desperate attention seekers at the end of the day, my answer would tell you that for me, its personal. Not only are they lashing out at my extended family but also they chose to so low and talk about my immediate family and post personal pictures of me, my wife and my sister that they so clearly stole from my Facebook page. So, it turns out that one if not more than one of these so-called “writers” are my friends on Facebook! Only then will they have access to my personal pictures. If anyone lashed out your family, I don’t care if it’s through false accusations, emails, blogs, newspaper etc. You will, just like me, feel compelled to not only get pissed off but have this instinctual nature to defend the honor, image and privacy of your family. If they’re trying this hard to get attention from all of us with the blog they’re obviously passionate about, why are they choosing to remain anonymous? If i believed in something, I wouldn’t care what people thought of me, I would proudly stand tall and let people see me for who I really am. Following that same logic, if this network really stands behind its accusations, I say be man enough about it and show yourselves or better yet, why don’t you tell us what you believe in front of our faces instead of posting it at some random blog on the internet? Can’t handle a little public scrutiny or pressure? Poor babies! If any of you guys are reading this, you guys made the choice to judge and insult me and my family, I say show yourselves to me so I can do the same to all of you. It’s only fair right? I really hope I can find out who you guys really are, the anticipation is killing me! Seriously, get your information straight. Your blog just shows that me that you really don’t have a single clue what you’re talking about. You’re just spewing the same kind of gas all the other misunderstood naysayers are saying all around the world. If you guys are really second generation from NJ, I have to say that I’m pretty saddened and disappointed to hear that especially considering the fact that some of you must have come to Lovin’ LIfe and probably had to opportunity to hang out with or my family who are genuinely trying so hard to love and support all of you guys. What a great way to repay us! Thank you so much for you generosity! You really think that everything my mom is saying is nothing more than brainwashing propoganda? You really think that my mom sends her ‘minions’ all over America to tell every one of her hatred towards her brother!! You honestly believe that? You all have issues to work out, but work at then quietly instead of trying to bring people who are living their life for God and service down just because you have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Just ask yourself this, how would you feel if you had a blog made about you, your sibling, your mother and your extended family while posting personal pictures of them on the internet while at the time being ridiculed and belittled with false information? Do you like the person you are becoming now? I would hate myself. In fact, do all of us a favor and do something productive in your life. “Treat people the way you want to be treated” Sooner or later, what goes around, comes around. I suggest you get ready. Me and my family regardless of what people say or do will continue doing what were doing because we truly believe in the difference that we are making. Our love for God and TP will never waiver.” So… enough of that sweet, sweet arrogance and irrational emotion poured out from the soul of Preston Moon. The fact is people are following along and conforming to this Church’s ideology and being strangled by this community without knowing what they are supporting. They are supporting the production of weapons, they are investing into the lavish lifestyle of the Moon family, they are giving power and strength to corrupt folk like In Jin Moon, they are standing behind Reverend Moon and worshiping the fella as a “perfect man” and openly denying his affairs and questionable behavior (beating kids, right wing business deals, gambling, and so on), and the mistreatment of members throughout the world (the Movement in Japan, the Church’s personal economy, members in Southeast Asia, and so on). So here we are. We are going to receive messages telling us we are misinformed and are downright shooting out slander onto the web. If that is what you decide to think of us, alright. We will continue informing others and upholding the righteous ideal of truthfulness. We encourage you to do the same. Peace.

A message from a writer

I sometimes find myself at a loss for words when I try to explain why I decided to separate myself from the movement, this illegitimate religion called Unificationism. I had an awakening, an epiphany, something beyond words, but I will try my hand at a testimony if it means I might help someone out.

My family was never very religious, so everything I learned about the church I learned from Sunday school and workshops. I learned about how selfless and perfect Rev. Moon was (the title “True Father” seems like such a fraud now…) and how we as a movement were so special because we knew the messiah was here, and we had great visions for world peace. That was all I ever knew because that was all I ever heard. “We are the future, we are humanity’s greatest hope.” Then, somewhere along my personal journey for truth and understanding, I began to peel back the superficial layers and all the ugliness flooded out. The abuse of money (“We affirm…that public resources are solely for public purpose.” Yeah, right.). Rev. Moon’s other life, his other wives, his hateful words, his contradictions.

The truth was ugly but undeniable, and all I had to do to find it was open my eyes. It’s been there all along, buried beneath Lovin’ Life and the flashy show church leaders put on to make Unificationism seem like some trendy belief, like “the thing.” So hip, so cool, so empty, so meaningless.

I found the truth and my life was in turmoil. It still is, when I find myself confined to the matching and Blessing process despite my loss of faith. I still struggle. I still lose sleep at night sometimes. But I stand by my beliefs. I refuse to be brainwashed again. I refuse to close my eyes.

I am so grateful to have parents who accept me for who I am and have given me the freedom to believe in whatever I think is right. I feel at peace knowing that there is a greater Truth out there and that I am free. Despite my being put through the matching/Blessing ordeal, I am free.

My name is Cristina, I am 16 from the Los Angeles area, and I do not support Unificationism. I am a nonbeliever.

I will not be ashamed of my beliefs, or my disbelief for that matter. Whatever you do, I’m with this blog 100%.

Should people keep writing for this? A message from a reader.

Hello

I have always felt like I was in and out of the unification church. Certain things clicked instantly with the very natural parts of my conscience like loving camps, hanging out, having fun. However something in me always fought bowing to pictures, quoting only Reverend Moon and marrying a stranger before I even knew who I was or what making love means.

But I did both things anyways.

End result was a very confused kid who went along with the flow to avoid conflict.

Most of the things you have and have yet to speak about in your Blog I learned about little by little over time and my “faith” in TP and TF weakened as I saw them for who they were. Moons illegitimate kids, hypocrisy and never ending self praise made me sick. The millions he spent on a palace for himself well his faithful followers living in crammed apartments and in vans made me nauseous.

His wife beating, cocaine filled sons picture sits on the alter of every unificationist next to a picture of moon and his wife.

I should have been told the truth when I was young. It would have helped me to keep the good the church has to offer, and would have allowed me to throw away the bad and become a better, more free person all around. But I learned myself, and just like when most people get this bomb of shit dropped on them it clusterfucking destroys there life.

Moon created a generation of children based on something beautiful. There is good and God in the church. But it also exists exactly the same in secular common sense people.

This blog is good and should exist to inform and educate. What I don’t like is the cynicism mixed with the mud slinging of people who are really trying to love for God, namely Dave Hunter and Jaga Gavin. The worst part of people “leaving the church” is when their “new church” becomes hating the church and it fills their life. Put the information out there, let people choose themselves.

Am I foolish and insignificant or am I great? I gave all the individuals in the world cause to kneel down in front of me.

Let’s sum it up.

“You don’t get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.”
L Ron Hubbard

So there has been a lot of controversy these days with the church. Wait let me rephrase that, there has always been a lot of controversy with the church, only the leaders would put a positive spin on everything or just not tell us about it. Now some BC’s get together and investigate what’s really going on and they’re being called out by Preston, and Jaga, and Dave Hunter. Who are the bad guys here? These BCs who are giving other BCs the facts and letting them decide for themselves, or is it this church for hiding it for so long.
Simple question here to all the hardcore BCs and 1st gen. What would it take for you to lose faith in True Father? When he went to jail for taxes that was fine, it only made you love him more, when his first marriage didn’t work there was a providential reason for that. There is always a reason for something after the fact. He fucks up, you make up a reason why he was supposed to fuck up. He can always get us to do whatever he wants. He had no trouble getting thousands of people to work for him for free, and no problem charging our parents 1000 dollars to get reblessed. The fact is he can do whatever he wants, even directly go against things he says, yet no one questions him. That says as much about him as it does you. Case in point: “Las Vegas should be a good city; however, gambling and corruption is destructive”

We often hear about how we shouldn’t gamble, DaeMoNim says it all the time, yet we hear rumors of TF spending absurd amounts of money at blackjack tables in where? You guessed it: Las Vegas. He was even spotted by a couple of BCs a year or two back. Think about this: The man doesn’t have a job, he’s a full time wannabe messiah. His companies, his fortune, it’s all because of this church. He’s not gambling with this little nestegg, he’s been saving up since his days as a youth in Korea. No, he’s gambling thousands of dollars at a time with your money, and my money, and our families money. But that’s okay, too. I’m sure within the next couple days some wise Moonie apologist will come up with some reasoning why its okay for him to gamble with our money. “ It’s not our money, it’s from his son’s gun company!” or “He needs to restore Las Vegas by getting God’s money in there” or some wild BS along those lines.

But certainly there must be something he can’t do right? I mean BCs gamble, it’s not that bad, we know that, though we don’t preach it. There must be something he couldn’t get away with right. I know that when BC’s smoke and drink their parents don’t get away with it. People talk,”such bad parents, bad bad parents”. I guess if we upped the ante and beat our wives and did coke that would make our parents… ideal, true, and uh… perfect? TF gets praised for raising a True Family, and when they do good he gets praise, yet if they do something wrong he gets no blame. The apologists will say, “he was too busy saving the world”, and to that I say he hasn’t done shit for the world. I’ll get to that later; you’ll have to stay tuned for my next post for that. Back to my point, So let’s assume that TF is the Messiah. His church says you shouldn’t gamble, and emphasizes family values, yet he apparently was a shitty father with a gambling problem. But that is fine! So let’s think, is there anything TF can’t get away with. Well misuse of public money is the second worst sin and he’s been getting away with that for years. 3 words, jewel encrusted crowns. Have any of you ever tried to buy jewelery? Last time for his birthday he got like 7, and he’s always getting them. Can your parents even afford proper wedding rings? It is guaranteed that in one night at a table in Las Vegas he would of wagered more money than your dad ever spent on your mom for anything, and that in crowns alone he has spent more than your parents have ever spent on anything, in their whole life, easy.

So basically the only way one would even consider leaving the church would be if True Father were to do the absolute worst thing in the church’s standards, and we all know what that is. So if he fell with another women surely people would wake up, right? When a BC falls he/she gets ridiculed and called horrible names, word spreads, friendships, reputations, lives, ruined. It is the worst possible thing a Moonie can do, especially a 2nd Generation who was blessed to have no original sin. But even if you read that he did you wouldn’t care, you wouldn’t believe it anyway! You’ll believe what you want, that he’s perfect despite his imperfections, despite proof that he doesn’t follow what he believes. Do you remember the quote at the top of this page? It’s a quote from L Ron Hubbard the founder of the successful new religious movement Scientology and a former science fiction writer. That quote was a response to a question from an audience member during a Science Fiction Convention in 1948, years before he decided to take up religion, as quoted in an affidavit in 1994. You would think upon reading that quote Scientology members would be up in arms, pissed off that they gave thousands of dollars in their quest towards truth only to find out their leader has always been in it for the money. But they didn’t. See there is something about the human psyche… it is fragile and in many ways easily manipulated. Those Scientology members are humans too, just like us. So were the 900 or so at Jonestown who killed themselves at the request of their leader, or those dudes that killed themselves because they thought they catch a ride on the Hale-Bopp Comet. Those Scientologists should have bailed when they realized their leader was a fraud but they didn’t. The members of Jonestown and Hale-Bopp should of thought “what if we’re wrong?” before killing themselves, but faith can block out all reason. You see it happen to them, but for some reason you cannot acknowledge it is happening to you.

Now I know it’s hard for some to leave this comfort zone. Go into a world where you aren’t applauded and praised for being special, free of sin, and where your just like anyone else, only weirder. It’s not easy to adjust, to talk to the opposite sex without feeling judged, to have the burden of finding your own love, to erase years of being told you are better. But you can. It took me years to fully leave the church, years of looking up documentaries, websites, and thinking, and slowing getting adjusted to that outside world. But you know what else it was? It was fun. When you realize you can have fun, flirt with girls, party, and still be a good human being when it comes down to it. We don’t need a messiah to tell us how to live or how not to live, just be good people.

You First Gen and 2nd Gen leaders can shield the eyes of the BCs from howwelldoyouknowyourmoon just like you shielded us as children, making us turn away from the TV when people started to make out or covered our ears when there’s an evil song being played. Or you can let them grow up, let them read the criticism and decide for themselves, and let them decide. Besides, nothing TF does can be wrong since he is indeed perfect, and well, we can explain all those odd rumors about True Family, right? So there is nothing to hide.

But what happens when a member of the True Family talks shit about TF himself? Claims that he not only had an affair, but had a child? What is your response to this?

So here is straight up confirmations of the existence of our beloved True Father’s bastard children: Sam Pak and Hee Jin Moon.
I’d like to know, because there’s two possible options. One: you start to think, “Wow, that’s some fucked up shit right there”, or two: you forget about it and prove my point… that True Father can get away with anything and you’ll love him anyway. He can do the worst thing a Moonie can do. He plays by his own rules. Is that what God would want? Does God desire to have a fornicating Messiah figure who can’t practice what he preaches? Really, that makes sense to you? Not because your parents or your leaders said it makes sense, but does that makes sense to YOU?

So buddy, how well do you know your Moon? Can you defend that Dave? Jaga? All you Moonie Tumblrs? You are welcome to defend and explain all of the above! Especially the whole Messiah being a wild fornicator part. Defend the hell out of that, brothers and sisters.

God-centered Families: The Pride of the Movement

As we all know, the Movement is very much focused on the family. The legal name of the Movement is “The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification”. Creating God-centered families is the goal of the Movement, and through this we are supposed to be able to create World and Peace and Unification.

Having a good family is something I completely agree with. After all, having good families can only do good things. Nobody has an aim to have a Satan-centered family or a bad family. But the clear focus of creating a fruitful, model family is a very idealistic and a beautiful concept. However, in the movement the principles of a God-centered family are not as clear cut as we would like to think. While doing HDH with my family one day I looked at the pictures of “True Parents” and the “True Family” and also reflected on my own family. It is very normal and basically tradition to have pictures of “True Parents” and the “True Family” all over a Moonie’s house. I looked at the plate my mom put out as an offering for Heung Jin and True Parents, and a family picture hanging from the 80s and a more recent, large portrait hanging. I went through the names and reflected on my knowledge on the True Children.

I know a lot of you guys can agree that it is way too excessive even if he was perhaps the Messiah. I have multiple pictures of them in almost every room in my own house, just like many other Moonie households. I thought to myself, why don’t we have even close to as many pictures of my own close family and extended family? If we are about family, our family portraits should be all over the house. We should have more pictures of our biological family than one we usually have no personal relationship with. I do not even see most of my extended family that often. Most of them I haven’t even seen in years, and I have a quite small extended family. I should know so, so much about these people that I have blood relations with. They are indeed family. Even now I do not fully know my parents and their “life story”. Though we talk and I have a decent relationship with my parents, they are constantly working and trying to make as much money as they can to survive. Balancing their work and their “spiritual lives” are difficult. My parents debate on how much they should be tithing and are making up payments for their recent “Re-Blessing” Ceremony. Plus my mother plans on making a trip to Korea sooner or later and wants to get a lot of liberation done for our ancestors. She spends most of her days working, comes home to cook and clean, stresses about money, sleeps a bit, and restarts her schedule for a day of the same thing. I hardly have time to talk to them and get to know them. The crooked dynamics have prevented the relationships in my family to be functioning the way I desire and I bet the way God desires.

Being a BC in the church I know this is very true and typical amongst many families within the movement. Let’s take some time to think about it. This is something we ought to do for ourselves at least. Everyone should make it a priority to truly love their family and have time for them. How can we love another family without loving our own or love another family more than ours? With that in mind, how can we love another person if we don’t really love ourselves?

It also doesn’t help that most of our parents lead dead-end jobs that make such low money. What makes it even worse is the talk about altruism and living for the sake of others. Well I sure know a lot of Moonies practice it but when it comes to money and the True Family, altruism does not exist. For a family worth a few billion dollars and who received most of it through members’ money, it would only make sense to give some back. If not give it back, why not create charities and donate it to charities/causes? Even if you think they are the perfect family and their father is a Messiah, it doesn’t mean they deserve to live such lavish lifestyles. Especially when it wasn’t their own hard-earned money. Without the movement’s followers’ money, they would not have any of that. Is that palace necessary? Are mansions necessary? Do you not realize the complete opposite of their lives are many followers’ lives. Many live in crappy and cramped houses or apartments. Even worse, these families sometimes have more than a few kids. It is not such a great lifestyle to say the least. Do these things not make you squirm at least a bit? Or are you just gonna go along with everything you’re told because of fear, ignorance, and judgement.

Here are some quotes on Fear for all of you:

“Fear. Deep rotting fear. They were infected by it. Did you see? Fear is a sickness. It will crawl into the soul of anyone who engages it. It has tainted your peace already. I did not raise you to see you live with fear. Strike it from your heart. Do not bring it into our village.” - In the movie Apocalypto

“If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.”
- Albert Einstein

Could you be living in fear? The contradiction we live: preaching the message of God-centered families yet leading lives contrary to it. This should cause some feeling in your heart. Are you numb to the pain out of fear of doubt?
